About Us

Hi! My name is Lisy.

I have been a registered nurse (RN) since 1983. Most of my career has been spent caring for premature and special-needs infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). During this time, I understood the invaluable benefits of mother’s milk for these special babies and I thoroughly enjoyed helping mothers breastfeed. Over time, I developed a passion for breastfeeding and pursued my certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2000.

I have a Master’s degree in Maternal/Child nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and a post-masters certificate as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) from Rush University, Chicago. While working as a nurse practitioner in a pediatric clinic, I realized that the ongoing needs of breastfeeding mothers are not fully met in a busy pediatric clinic due to time constraints and lack of expertise in lactation management. After working for over 25 years in hospital settings, I decided to open up my private lactation clinic where I can provide undivided attention to the needs of nursing mothers and babies and provide compassionate, evidence-based, and affordable services.

I have been married since 1986 to my husband Joy, who is very supportive of my endeavors. I have two daughters, Jasmin who is married to Josh, and Jocelin who is married to Thomas. Both enthusiastically encourage me and help me with the new avenues of my career. In my free time, I enjoy taking walks with my husband, cooking, reading about holistic medicine and ways to improve health and wellness, and traveling.
